CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — Olivia “Liv” Maria Orencia, a devoted daughter, fiancée, and respected social worker, passed away on June 18, 2026, at the age of 29 after being diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. She died in Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by her loved ones during her final moments following hospitalization.

Born on December 3, 1996, Olivia was raised in Algonquin, Illinois, where she was known for her vibrant personality, compassion, and early passion for dance. As the eldest of her siblings, Elise and Adam, she grew up in a close-knit family grounded in love, encouragement, and shared experiences.

Olivia attended Jacobs High School, where she excelled academically and was a standout member of the varsity dance team for four consecutive years. Her dedication, creativity, and leadership made her a beloved presence among classmates and coaches.

She later attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earning her undergraduate degree in 2019 and completing her Master of Social Work in 2020. During her university years, she was actively involved in Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, choreographed charitable dance performances, and coached for the Universal Dance Association, reflecting her lifelong commitment to service and the arts.

Olivia began her professional career at UW Health University Hospital, where she worked as a social worker during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this role, she provided compassionate support to patients and families navigating illness, grief, and uncertainty. In February 2026, she transitioned to Agrace Hospice Care, where she continued her passion for palliative social work, supporting individuals and families with empathy and dedication.

Beyond her professional life, Olivia’s story was defined by deep love and meaningful relationships. She met her partner, John Moroney, while studying in Madison, and together they built a strong and supportive relationship. Their engagement took place on March 21, 2026, at Giddings Park, and the couple had been planning a wedding for July 2027.
