Over the years, he held positions with Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham, AFC Fylde, Morecambe, and most recently Grimsby Town, where he served as Player Recruitment Lead.
At Grimsby Town, Alex quickly earned the admiration of colleagues and club officials for his professionalism, expertise, and commitment to helping shape the club’s future. He worked closely with the football department and played an important role in recruitment and squad development. The club described him as a highly respected and valued member of the Grimsby family.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alex is remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, and loyal friend. Those who knew him speak of his kindness, humility, and positive spirit. He was known for building meaningful relationships and for bringing warmth and encouragement to the people around him.
In a statement released through the League Managers Association, Mark Hughes and his wife, Jill, said they were “totally heartbroken” by the sudden and unexpected loss of their beloved son. Alex is survived by his wife, Jessica, their two children, Sebastian and Leonardo, his parents, Mark and Jill, and his siblings, Curtis and Xenna.
